Aerial Newport

These ariel views of Newport were taken in the 1930s. they illustrate the old Newport High Street railway station when the western valley platform was in full use, and the train to Usk and Raglan had a regular spot. Shown also is the maindee triangle, the line that followed a route via Ponthir, Caerleon Pontypool to all points North. Dock Street station and the Mordey Carney warfs are shown to good effect as well as parts of the river bank. Also included are pictures of Chepstow Road and Clarence place, not from the air, but interesting never the less.
