Wynn's Scotland 1968
December 1968 and three torturous weeks taking this 120 ton excavator, 110RB electric, from Coventry to Troon in Scotland. What could go wrong did!. Deep snow, breakdowns, accidents, a night run through Glasgow and a damaged hydraulic pipe in Shap village resulting in us turning the whole thing around in a blizzard in 3feet of snow. If anyone is interested, I have a diary of the whole trip. Should send you to sleep for a week.!
Weedkilling Train in Pill 1975
In the 1970s I lived in next to the old Monmouthshire Railway Line, which at one time ran from Cardiff Road, via Dock Street Station up to Llantarnam, and Northwards. The line was in its twilight years despite having an illustrious past. One damp day I had the surprise of my life to see coaches on the old branch. Grabbing a camera I climbed onto the back addition roof to capture the moment. The moment was duly recorded, but unfortunately nobody recorded me crashing through the asbestos roof. The things we do in the name of Heritage.
